Anastasia Bougea

Biography

Dr. Anastasia Bougea is a postdoctoral neurologist at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens and an expert consultant on Parkinson’s disease and atypical parkinsonian syndromes. Her research focuses on biochemical biomarkers—such as alpha-synuclein, microRNAs, and circRNAs—in CSF, plasma, and serum. She has received multiple awards, including the 2024 Medicina Young Investigator Award and the 2021 EAN Investigator Award, and has authored over 150 publications while actively serving as an editor and reviewer in international journals.
