Thomas Muller

Biography

Thomas Müller, Dr. med., Professor, was born on December 13, 1960, in Clausthal-Zellerfeld. He completed his schooling between 1967 and 1980 and went on to study medicine at the Universities of Bochum, Essen, and Munich from 1980 to 1987, completing his thesis on pain at TU Munich. He received his medical license in 1987. Dr. Müller began his clinical career at the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Würzburg (1987–1990), followed by a year at the Department of Neurology, University of Marburg (1990–1991). From 1992 to 2007, he served at the Department of Neurology at the University of Bochum, becoming a university lecturer, senior physician, and specialist in neurology, psychiatry, and psychotherapy in 1996. In 2001, he joined the Faculty of Neuroscience at the University of Bochum and was appointed Professor in 2002. Since 2007, he has been Head of the Department of Neurology at Berlin Weißensee, St. Joseph Hospital. Between 2008 and 2013, he also worked as a consultant in neurology and psychiatry at St. Joseph Berlin Tempelhof. He established an outpatient unit for multiple sclerosis in 2009 and later launched a rehabilitation program for advanced multiple sclerosis in 2013.
