Erika Elizabeth Rodriguez Torres
Biography
Erika Elizabeth Rodriguez-Torres has been a research professor at the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo (UAEH) since 2006. She earned her PhD in Cellular and Molecular Physiology from the Department of Physiology, Biophysics, and Neurosciences at the Center for Research and Advanced Studies (CINVESTAV) of the IPN in 2013. She holds a Master's degree in Neurosciences from the University of Oregon, Eugene, USA, obtained in 2003, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Autonomous University of Yucatán, Mérida, Mexico, earned in 1998.
In recent years, Dr. Rodriguez-Torres has focused on data science, collaborating with multidisciplinary groups. She has been a member of the National System of Researchers, Level 1, since 2014. In the same year, she received the Sofia Kovalevskaya Award from the Mexican Mathematical Society and the Sofia Kovalevskaya Foundation. Her research interests include cognitive neuroscience, time series analysis of physiological phenomena, undernutrition, cognitive impairment, and mental illness. Dr. Rodriguez-Torres is also an active member of several professional organizations, including the Mexican Society of Physiological Sciences, the Mexican Mathematical Society, and the Society for Neuroscience.
